Envisioning a Stronger FutureSheriff Heldman wants to finish building the sheriff’s office of the future. As the chief law enforcement officer of the county, he has been working through the challenges of modernizing policing, implementing and upgrading technology in the Sheriff's Office, advancing medical safety protocols and tools, and protecting Hancock County from cyber and digital crimes. Sheriff Heldman knows this is a time of rapid change in the way criminals behave, and as result, law enforcement needs to change too. Technology and compassion have become daily tools used by law enforcement. And the Sheriff knows the role of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office needs to continue evolving to stay ahead of the challenges.
